Balcony and kenopy spaces in apartments are the only externally accessible intermediaries that play an important spatial role as living aids for residents, as well as functional aspects of ventilation, lighting, and views. Under these diverse role of utilization space, the choice of floor finishing materials plays an important role above all, and it becomes an important means for quantitative and qualitative improvement of residential space rather than just service space. In recent years, the share of space utilization in such balconies and terraces has been increased, so it is necessary to analyze the most efficient and economical life cycle cost (LCC) to avoid excessive waste from the initial design stage of floor finishing to the maintenance stage after completion
Therefore, in this study, the various floor finishing materials for balconies and terraces are selected and the optimized finishing materials are selected through LCC analysis for input costs ranging from initial investment and maintenance and demolition (waste) costs to derive practical data from the initial design stage.
