This study was conducted to verifies the effects of Towing harness with resisted sprint training function as an auxiliary equipment for treadmill.
For this research, a prototype was produced by connecting 1.5 to 2.0m of straps to Comcor’s sled harness vest and a small and light four-line road cell. For the experiment, 20 healthy men in their 20s were exercised in treadmill with a maximum oxygen intake standard of 40% VO₂R walking and 70% VO₂R running. The kinematics analysis confirmed that there was no stability problem because there was no difference in knee and ankle joint angle during walking and running exercises. In addition, treadmill exercise after wearing a toning harness with a strength of 55% VO₂R for 38 minutes was found to significantly increase the highest oxygen intake, heart rate, total energy consumption and RER compared to when not wearing it. Through this, it was confirmed that the towing harness for treadmill produced resistance, affecting the strength of the motion. Therefore, the study suggests that the towing harness can be used as an auxiliary device to generate resistance for effective treadmill exercise.
