High school students suffer from higher stress due to pressure from entrance exams. However, high schools do not have enough space for students to relieve stress. Therefore, the study was initiated to present guidelines for space in schools that can relieve the stress of various students in high schools. The research was conducted to provide two spatial guidelines, focusing on the extraversion (E) and introversion (I) types of MBTI personality types. Precedent papers on the MBTI preference trends, and interior space elements were analyzed to select interior space design elements based on this. A survey was conducted by selecting a spatial image that contained these spatial design elements without overlapping them. A survey of 202 high school students on spatial image preferences was conducted and analyzed. The results showed significant differences in spatial design preferences between extraversion (E) and introversion (I) types. In the intuition (N) and sensing (S) types, common preferences were shown, so it was possible to present guidelines for extraversion(E)-type rest areas that satisfied extrovert sensing(ES) and extrovert intuition (EN), and introversion(I)-type rest areas that satisfied introvert intuition(IN) and introvert sensing(IS)-type. We hope that the results of this study will be used as a tool for planning rest areas in schools considering the characteristics of various students in the future.
