The purpose of this study is to analyze the environmental characteristics and spatial factors of mural place and consider the problem and improvement of mural and then show the way of spatial approach for mural making process. It is meaningful to redeem for Maintenance that caused social conflict. This study examined existing academic literature, media, online sources to assess the environmental background of mural place, the current wall condition, characteristics of mural material, and color that can be appled spatial factors of mural place. The colors of this study were analyzed by Korea Standard Color Analysis program that can easily figure out the hue, value, and chroma. The case study for mural is limited to mural place installed the road and underground facilities. The spatial factors such as mural space, wall, materials, and color are considered after collecting 7 color images. The result indicated that the mural place installed the road and underground facilities such as retaining wall and tunnel was set up the reasonal place for mural purpose. The walls that were set up are concrete retaining walls mostly. The painting mural, metallic mural, and tile mural have problems each. Since the material that improve sustainability is tile and heat-treat metal, it needs to reduce use paint. Several mural color scheme do not associate with its surroundings. and show value or chroma difference rather than using hue difference. From now on, it will have to consider a way to harmonize the architectural wall material properties and mural material. The result of this study is expected to reduce a complicated matter of mural making environment and to have a correct understanding of spatial factors of mural place in the future and need to study of local community satisfaction form POE.
