The year of 2000s is a critical time when innovative changes were made in along with institutional and social transformation in the development of supply-oriented apartments in Korea"s apartment complexes. However, the previous studies of the changes have had limitations focused only on the post-constructed results. This study aims to find the changed in outdoor spaces which were the key changing elements in apartment complexes in the 2000s by using a case study method of the comparison of proposals and post-constriction results, whose projects were conducted by the Seoul Housing & Communities Corporation from 2001 to 2003. Study result finds the block form inside the apartment complex was maintained, so there was little change in vehicle line. Pedestrian way has changed negatively in some cases, but as pedestrian paths containing eco-friendly and community concepts have been maintained, it has led to changes in the outdoor space of apartment complexes. The open spaces were divided into "node-type space", "theme-type space", "street-type space", and "courtyard-type space" to understand the relationship between the proposals and the results after construction, and to clarify the differences.
