The purpose of this research is to explore the effects of forest healing and health education program on health promotion behavior and university life adaptation of university students. For this research, from September 16 to December 6, 2019, 190 college students living in dormitories were selected as subjects for the research using the purposeful sampling method. A 12-week forest healing and health education program was conducted for them, and the pre-post tests were conducted to analyze the differences between health promotion behavior and university life adaptation. Among the collected data, 178 valid data were tested for paired t-test using the SPSS 22.0 statistical program. Based on the results derived from these methods and procedures, the following conclusions were presented. First, as the results of examining the health promotion behavior of university students who participated in the 12-week forest healing and health education program, the level of university students after 12 weeks program was higher than before in all the sub-factors of health promotion behavior, which consists of self-realization, health responsibility, exercise and nutrition, interpersonal support, and stress management. Second, as the results of examining the university life adaptation of university students who participated in the 12-week forest healing and health education program, the level of university students after 12 weeks program was higher than before in all the sub-factors of university life adaptation, which consists of attachment to university, academic adaptation, social adaptation, emotional adaptation, and physical adaptation. Accordingly, the nature-experience health education program should be actively utilized as a strategy for mediating health promotion in terms of preventive medicine so that various factors that are constantly negatively affecting university students can be managed well in daily life and a healthy lifestyle can be practiced.
