This study aims to examine the relationship between job burnout and happiness of the directors of early childhood education institutions, and to verify the moderating effect of resilience. For this purpose, a total of 257 questionnaires were collected from the directors of early childhood education institutions working in the areas of Seoul, Gyeonggi Province and Gwangju. The research tools consist of the burnout scale, happiness scale, and resilience index. For data analysis, correlation analysis and Baron & Kenny's regression analysis were conducted by using SPSS 23.0. According to the results, a negative correlation was observed between happiness and resilience from the job burnout of the directors of the early childhood education institutions. The sub-factors of job burnout were negatively correlated with the sub-factors of happiness. The sub factors of job burnout were also negatively correlated with the sub factors of resilience. As a result of examining the moderating effect of resilience on the happiness of directors of early childhood education institutions, resilience showed a significant moderating effect on the consequences of job burnout, overall happiness and controlled happiness. These results indicate that resilience needs to be considered as a protective factor when the happiness of the director of the early childhood education institution decreases. These results suggest that resilience acts as a protective factor when the happiness of the directors of early childhood education institutions decreases due to job burnout.
