Modern public libraries are common assets of the local people and commons of this age. The purpose of this study is to investigate the fundamental understanding of the library and the perception of the utilization aspects of the shared space among the actual users of the library, and to identify what users are demanding for various sharing activities. For this study, drawing analysis, field survey, questionnaire and interview survey were conducted for five public library cases. The final 545 valid samples were extracted from each case. For the analysis method, SPSS was used and the relative importance and IPA analysis were conducted through frequency analysis, regression analysis, and cross analysis. As a result, the following meaningful results were obtained. 1) Users recognized the library as a necessary facility in the region for sharing knowledge information. 2) The library's shared space has been confirmed by users that the access system from the outside to the shared space properly guaranteed and have a positive perception of the current introduction space composition for access. 3) The users, especially young people, recognized that modern shared culture trends are relatively well reflected in the library space, especially the reading space of books in the IC area. 4) The IC area is known to have the highest utilization rate among shared spaces and is also the space that users consider the most important. 5) The user's perceptions and demands on the library were found to be partially related to the purpose of using the library. 6) Through the analysis of the requirements for the library's shared space, it was confirmed that the users actively demand the practical improvement on the inconvenience of shared space that they usually use.
