The word of "Bei" we seen in the unearthed Chu Bamboo of the Warring States Period is not a passive usage. According to written records, in the use of "Bei" as an auxiliary verb and a preposition, the use of auxiliary verb probably began from the Warring States Period; The use of prepositions was probably formed dur- ing the Han and Wei Dynasties, it prevailed in the Tang Dynasty. According to the analysis of this paper, the use of auxiliary verbs ap- peared many times in the Qin Slips in Shuihudi. Therefore, the Warring States Period is the germination period of the character "Bei" as the Bei-Sentence. In the late Warring States Period, the construction of "Bei + V" was used as an auxiliary verb. The use of "Bei +Z+V" as the preposi- tion was gradually perfected and used in the Han Dynasty. In the Qin Slips in Shuihudi, we could see an example of the use of the word "Bei" as an auxiliary verb of the Bei-Sentence. Although there were only seven examples, the use of auxiliary verbs in the late Warring States Period began to be widely used. This played a very important role in the process of Bei-Sentence development.
