The purpose of this study was to suggest a comprehensive viewpoint about single person household housing research. The research method was a systematic review and digital network analysis was used to conduct keyword analysis. The data was collected through Scopus, an international academic database, and the guideline of PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) was used as the systematic review method to extract final 178 references. The literature analysis was performed with keyword network analysis, and a digital bibliometric software was used to systematically analyze large data. For the comparative study, the 101 articles over the ten years and 77 articles performed before then were compared, and the following are the research findings. First, the most important keywords throughout the entire period were “single person household” and “elderly.” In the past, “elderly” associated keyword was the majority, but recently, many other keywords like “single person household” appeared in line with the lifestyles such as “share,” “consumption,” and “residence status.” Second, visualized network simply used to base on three clusters in the past, but recently, seven varied clusters appeared such as alternate housing, consumer life, energy conservation, elderly alternative housing, alternatives for family structure changes, elderly housing management, and housing welfare. In conclusion, single person household housing evolved from the theme about passive responses in the previous society about single elderly housing into active theme about cultural subjects that lead to a new society.
