This study aims to construct lists of high-frequency phrasal verbs(PVs) used in oral communication and written digital contexts. COCA"s TV/Movies and Web-general genres were chosen to extract high-frequency PVs. The PM value was calculated by the frequency of occurrences of PV per million words. The results showed that the number of phrasal verbs in the TV/Movies genre was 654, and that of Web-genl was 654. "Come on" was the most frequent phrasal verb in the TV/Movies genre, mostly used in imperative informal contexts. Meanwhile, for the Web-genl genre, "go on" showed the highest frequency. The resulting lists were compared to the previously made PV lists by Gardner and Davies (2007) and Liu (2011) to investigate how different the lists are between specific and general genres. For example, "Sign up" was a phrasal verb with a high ranking in the Web-genl PV list but not featured in the two lists. The result showed that PVs frequently used in spoken language are more sensitive to time change than written language.
