Generation Z known as zoomers was born after the late 1990s, so most of them are still young. Particularly, they value individual life more than others, but they are interested in social change as well and actively participate in many fields. They have also grown with digital media and are familiar with smartphones and online activities. Films made by Generation Z are different from youth-made films in the past. They reveal their thoughts frankly and strive to realize the characteristics of the genre. Their production method is also new and fresh. It deviates from the existing production method and sometimes makes movies optimized for smartphones. These characteristics of Generation Z and their films provide important implications for film education. In summary, it is as follows: First, the content of production education should change, such as producing films of various genres, away from the production practice centered on a growth narrative. Second, it is necessary to pursue flexibility in film format and diversification of production methods by reflecting the current video media environment. Third, the perception of the instructor must change. Understand and fully support the characteristics of Generation Z, but wait until they grow on their own. If film education varies according to the characteristics of Generation Z, it will be possible to meet learners’ needs by responding to the changes of the times.
