Recently, the Ministry of Education has expanded the number of kindergartens attached to elementary schools, which are public kindergartens, to improve overall childcare services. However, kindergartens attached to elementary schools need to consider various aspects of crime prevention design (CPTED) due to their spatial characteristics. Therefore, this study classifies the spatial composition of kindergartens attached to elementary schools and analyzes guidelines for design of domestic and foreign kindergartens in terms of CPTED. This study can conclude that: First, CPTED needs to be selected as the main design principle from the guideline planning stage, and integrated CPTED guidelines need to be sought through layout and movement planning and analysis of various age characteristics. Second, kindergartens attached to elementary schools need to find a design that strengthens the territoriality of each dedicated and public space due to the nature of the facility's use and strengthens their activities so that they can monitor their surroundings on their own. Finally, kindergartens attached to elementary schools have higher concerns about violence against kindergarteners and violence among kindergarteners, compared to single kindergartens. Therefore, in future studies, it is necessary to conduct a fact-finding survey on the school violence damage experiences of kindergarteners to derive actual crime-vulnerable spaces and seek practical CPTED guidelines accordingly.
