The paper attempts to rediscover the educational, cultural, and economic value of Turkic folktales as an infinite source of cultural assets, aiming to utilize folktales as a new source for creativity. It explored and analyzed Turkic folktales particularly originating from Anatolia, which has long been ignored in the Korean cultural market. In order to enhance the imaginative powers of Korean cultural industry, Turkic folktales were studied as a subject. Their universal value and uniqueness, passed down through generations in Anatolia, were examined, and representative stories with potential to be recreated into diverse media were selected. Finally, selected stories were classified according to major motifs and were analyzed in terms of material, theme, related folkloric customs, and beliefs. The results of this study will serve as a foundation to recreate the stories accumulated by Turkic people as modern and popular cultural contents.
