Purpose: In this study, rather than general childcare support policies in Japan, the contents and characteristics of childcare support housing and accreditation system implemented for households with child care and children, houses and complexes, etc. are examined. In particular, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has been implementing the childcare support housing certification system since 2016, and as of April 2020, only about 1,000 households have been accredited, adopting strict requirements and accreditation standards. It analyzes the accreditation standards, contents and characteristics, focusing on the childcare support housing certification system of the capital city. Method: The author reviewed the main contents of the childcare support housing accreditation system in Tokyo, as well as the accreditation procedures and accreditation standards. In particular, for the accreditation standards consisting of a total of 93 individual criteria in a total of 6 categories, a full survey was conducted focusing on the accreditation standards for each item and whether or not they were required to be applied. Result: It is note wrthy that the standards for accreditation of childcare support housing mainly focus on the safety of children within the family and within the complex and the concept of socially responsible childcare is applied, such as sharing support programs for children with the complex or region. However, although there is a relatively weak direct and financial merit of childcare support housing recognition, it is desirable that financial support is possible through the childcare support type apartment housing promotion project started by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport from 2021.
