This study investigates move-step structures in conclusion sections of English RAs in Korean and international journals within Applied Linguistics. Analyzing 100 RA conclusions following Yang and Allison"s (2003) model, it finds that two-move structures such as Move 1- Move 3 and Move 1-Move 2 more frequently occur in the conclusions of the Korean corpus than in the international corpus. A limited use of Move 2 and Move 3 by Korean RA writers are also identified in the distribution of moves. In particular, it is noted that Move 2 is the least frequent move in Korean RA conclusions, while the frequency of Move 2 is similar to that of Move 3 in international counterparts.These features, influenced by cultural patterns, impact writers" rhetorical strategies, offering implications for a pedagogical framework for Korean L2 writers in crafting effective conclusion sections in English research articles.
