Objective: This study aims to identify the impact of play-related factors on children’s right to play and their happiness, and to examine the model differences depending on poverty status with multi-group analysis. Methods: The subjects of this study were 1,434 children who participated in the 11th(2018) and 12th(2019) survey of the Panel Study on Korean Children (PSKC), and the data were analyzed by SPSS 25.0 and Amos 21.0. Results: Using the structural equation model, play space, peer play, and parental play support attitudes affected happiness by mediating the ensuring of children’s right to play. For the multi-group analysis, the influence of peer play was the greatest in both the poor and non-poor groups. Conclusions: To promote children's right to play, infrastructural support is needed to prepare a play space in line with the conditions of the local community. In addition, it is necessary to improve parental awareness and to provide playtime with peers. In particular, peer play is important for children in poverty. A strategy to support children in poverty should be established so that they can play freely with their peers in a safe care space.
