The historical ties between Korea and Japan have fostered extensive cultural exchanges, resulting in the transcription of various Korean scripts into Kana notation. Drawing from previous scholarship, this study scrutinizes the significance and constraints of Korean texts transcribed in Kana script, with particular attention to Intokuki(陰徳記) authored by Kagawa Masanori(香川正矩). Moreover, it seeks to delineate the trajectory of future investigations in this domain. Intokuki encompasses Joseon vocabulary and expressions transcribed in Kana, serving as educational resources for Japanese forces deployed to Joseon during the Imjin War(壬辰倭亂). Extensive examination underscores the value of these texts as invaluable resources for comprehending the realities of the Imjin War. Unveiling the linguistic nuances and cultural insights embedded in Korean texts transcribed in Kana offers a window into the mindset and circumstances of historical actors. Consequently, such materials emerge as pivotal assets for historical inquiry. Moving forward, a comprehensive approach encompassing linguistic, cultural, and socio-historical dimensions will be imperative for advancing scholarship in this field.
