This study investigates the usage patterns of English related words in Korean texts, with a particular focus on The Bank of Korea Economic Outlook Report (Indigo Book), published in February 2023. The English related words are classified into three categories: [1] English words presented in the alphabet, [2] English-derived loanwords fully integrated into the Korean language, and [3] English-derived foreign words not yet standardized in Korean dictionaries. The study examines the frequency and contextual usage of each type and explores the feasibility of replacing them with Korean- refined equivalents. The findings indicate that organization names and technical acronyms in English dominate over other types of usages due to their widespread familiarity in economic discourse. Nonetheless, certain English-derived words remain in use despite the existence of Korean alternatives. The study highlights the need for systematic guidelines to reduce unnecessary reliance on English related words in public documents and to encourage the use of Korean-refined terms.
