The organization of 7th curriculum is initially starting from the first year of elementary school to the first year of high school.
Literature textbook is used for the optional subject, which is subjected to deepen knowledge among other subjects. This is used for second or third year of the high school students. In this paper, we shall focus on the overall classical old novels in the literature textbooks. Especially, we will consider Pak-ssi-jeon with the question of present condition and problem of high school education.
Pak-ssi-jeon is found in the 5 different kinds of textbooks among 18 current textbooks. The story of Pak-ssi-jeon considers the national identity through war(Byung-ja-ho-ran) and presents women's perspectives.
In this case at hand, we shall analyze the problem of studying Pak-ssi-jeon through the organization of sub-chapters. As a result, we shall point out following three problems.
1) 'The aim of study' vs. accord with Pak-ssi-jeon
2) 'Overall story' vs. consentaneity of i-bon
3) 'The activity for study vs. intimacy for the text
Finally, this study suggests that the most important part of selecting classical old novel is to choose original text for the textbook and its use. As far as we concern, in the high school education, these kinds of concepts and thinking is not good enough.
To solve this problem, we argue that the communication between researchers and high school is very important in various ways.
