The education and medium for enlightenment are inseparably related to each other. The school textbook is one of the most major means of enlightenment because it is the important instrument for the educational curriculum.
The Korean school textbook’s canonization of the Korean War’s poems is similar to the process of dominant ideology’s establishment. The group of Identity and ‘the other’ was distinctively divided by the Korean War. The subjects of enlightenment were hostile to ‘the other’ group through the Korean War and could establish the positive basement of the Identity group, revealing the discourse of anti-communism and patriotism. The method of spreading the discourse is to add various ‘additional words’ and form the cannon with the Korean War’s poems. By means of the Korean school textbook, they could stir up patriotism and plan the strategy of Identity.
However, the ways of this canonization aren’t proper to cultivate ‘critical common researcher’ or subjective human being. Therefore the argument on the canonization must be continually done with the problems of destruction and construction of canon.
