In order to investigate the changes of cardiopulmonary and blood lipids by performing circuit weight training, 20 middle-aged women were chosen as subjects in this experiment. The females subjects were divided into 2 groups: an exercise group and a non-exercise group. The women in the exercise group participated in a weight training program consecutively three times a week for an hour, over a period of three years. The women in the non-exercise group did not participate in any type of regular exercise and were compared with the first group according to cardiopulmonary and blood changes.
The results of this study are as follows:
1. Cardiopulmonary results.
According to a cardiopulmonary comparison, the exercise group clearly showed a high levels of FVC, FEV1, MVV and very significant differences(p<.001). In cardiopulmonary rates when at rest, there were no significant differences in BF, VE, VO₂, Vt. The subjects in the exercise group showed a low level of HR and significant differences(p<.001).
According to respiration and circulation rates during a maximum amount of exercise, there were no significant differences in HR, BF, TV, VECO₂ and showed significant differences in VE, VOℓ/min, VO₂㎖l/㎏/min(p<.001).
In exercise, distance and duration, the exercise group showed remarkably high levels and significant differences(p<.001).
When the cardiopulmonary rates were returned to normal there were shown to be no significant differences.
