The paper examined Korean students' learning style preferences and the relationship to EFL reading test types. Twenty-three learning styles were measured and related to the scores of 6 test types of reading. From a sample of 167 students, it was found that Korean students preferred visual, introvert, global, synthetic, leveler, field-dependent, reflective, metaphoric, and deductive styles. There was a great partiality in the preference and it was more so for female students. There was a mismatch between the styles preferred by students and those affecting reading test performance positively. Reading test scores benefited from closure, sharpener, field-independent, and visual styles, while they were disadvantaged by inductive, kinesthetic, and literal styles. Different test types took advantage of different learning styles. The students' preferred styles contributed little to EFL reading test performance.
