The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of isokinetic exercise on rehabilitation of muscle strength after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. subjects were consisted of 10 persons(age=30.50±4.552 yrs) who had knee operation were involved in this study. To regain the muscle strength and power of injured leg compared to those of uninjured leg, they received isokinetic training(30-40 min/3 day/8 weeks) on biodex system Ⅲ with gradually overload principle. the test time were pre, 4week, and 8weeks after isokinetic training, muscle strength, muscle average power, were determined at 60deg/sec, 180 deg/sec of biodex system Ⅲ.
The result for this study was drawn. 1. At the velocity of 60deg/sec, 180 deg/sec the peak torque of extension were significantly in creased at injured leg after 8 week training(p<.05). 2. At the velocity of 60 deg/sec the average power of extension was significantly in creased at injured leg after 8 week training(p<.05), and At the velocity of 180 deg/sec the average power of extension and flexion were significantly in creased at injured leg after 8 week training(p<.05). 3. Muscle deficit ratio between injured leg and uninjured leg were significantly decreased at velocity of 60deg/sec, 180 deg/sec the peak torque of Leg extension after 8 week training(p<.05). 4. Flexion/extension ratio were not significantly different at velocity of 60 deg/sec, 180 deg/sec the peak torque(p>.05).
Although the 8 week training for rehabilitation biodex system Ⅲ significantly improved the muscle strength and average power the specifically knee extension was not fully recovered. Therefore we suggest that the rehabilitation training by using biodex system Ⅲ is effectable for the knee sugery leg.
