This article intent to confirm the potentiality of drifting people’s novel. ‘Sosimin’(a petty bourgeois) is one of the most suitable case in that novels. ‘Sosimin’ searched for the origin of our present life. That people called sosimin, used the title, is a city dweller. They usually chased economic benefits and they are more snobbish than they look. This novel showed the birth of sosimin for the Korean War in Busan.
This novel made a sense of sorrow. A sense of sorrow was originated by a natural process of hardhearted reality. An individual in this novel was swept away by the hardhearted reality waves. It included moral corruptions and ideological defections. Park the narrator who was North Korean refugees accelerated a sense of sorrow.
A type of sosimin treated in this novel was found in many 70’s novels. Because the modernization, the growth of cities, the population concentration gave rise to many drifting people. They are the same as low-income urban people, but they desire to take part of a member of the citizens. It is very important that ‘Sosimin’ commenced the drifting people’s novel.
