In modern society, kinds of products and services become more complicated and diversified. And kinds and contents of contracts are also getting more complicated and diversified.
It is the usual situation that businesses unilaterally set up contracts for their own purpose and manage them by themselves. In addition, businesses sometimes adopt the disadvantageous agreements for consumers and even apply the contracts to consumers without sufficient explanation about the agreements. This is the reason why the consumer conflicts are occurred.
Korea enacted the law on "Regulation of Standardized Contracts Act" for consumers in 31/dec/1986. however, it is the actual realities that "Regulation of Standardized Contracts Act" including the disadvantageous agreements can"t protect the consumers effectively from various conflicts.
Henceforth, I suggest an alternative based on both businesses" obligation for explanations to consumers about contents of contracts and systems of standardized agreements.
