Dano Festival should been seen as the worship ceremony, or in another word festival not for God of Moon, but for God of Sun whose symbols include May Pole. Because in Dano Festival there is a game called Chajeonnori which is also called Carts Fighting Game, and the cart is the very symbol of God of Sun. The wheel of the cart is also called Dharma cakra which is hung on the top of the roof as the symbol of Moon or Sun in Tibet and Mongolia. Lunar New Year"s Day, Dano, Chuseok are called Three Great Festivals by Koreans. Our nation holds festivals according to trichotomy. The Korean people living in Heilongjiang Province of China regard Lunar New Year"s Day as the morning, Dano as the noon, Chuseok as the evening which is also according to trichotomy.
And we can find that even Ari-rang Triple Time obeys the rule of trichotomy. Koreans have a saying to wear their best clothes only in Three Great Festivals is also a proof of obeying of trichotomy.
