With the increase in traffic accidents caused by elderly drivers, as well as serious accidents by elderly drivers with dementia, the issue of driver license renewal has become an issue of major public concern. In seeking to reduce accidents by the elderly, it is critical to perform regular assessments and trainings of driving ability (particularly vision, attentiveness and decision-making skills) from early in middle age. In this research, the new driving ability measurement simulator was developed that measured attentiveness and the decision-making for the safe driving in the condition similar to an actual driving scene. Moreover, training that activated the prefrontal area was done, and the experiment that confirmed the effect of training was done by comparing the measurement results before and after training.
