The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 12-week exercises on lipid peroxidation, antioxidant enzymes and tissue of the liver Forty five fischer 344 rats were randomly assigned into three groups: control group, low-intensity endurance group and high-intensity endurance group. The rats were provide with a diet of two-percent cholesterol during the experiment Statistical techniques for data analysis were two-way repeated measures ANOVA to determine the difference among groups and training times(6, 12 weeks). Following 6weeks, 12weeks training period the liver tissue of rats were analyzed to determine SOD acivity, GHS-px and MDA levels. 1) There were no significant difference in MDA among the groups following pre-, six- and twelve-week training. but significant difference among the periods 2) There were no significant difference in GHS-PX among the groups following pre-, six- and twelve-week training. but significant difference among the periods. 3) There were no significant difference in SOD among the groups and the periods following pre-, six- and twelve-week training. 4) Lipid deposition of liver tissue appeared no in high-intensity endurance group, partly in low-intensity endurance group and much in control group. As a result of this conclusion the study shows that long-term endurance exercise may have an effect to induce an adaptive increase in activities of anti-oxidant enzyme system, improving defence capacities against arteriosclerotic disease.
