The purpose of this study was to verify of motor program effectiveness for cognitive competence of children with developmental disabilities. The subject were 20 children with developmental disabilities. The 20 children were divided into two groups. One group of 10 were in an experimental group and the remaining 10 in a control group. To find out any changes of their cognitive competence, a motor program was executed to the exercise group three times a week, for forty minutes a day over sixteen weeks. Before appling this program, was measured the cognitive competence for each group. After eight weeks and sixteen weeks their abilities were remeasured using the same method as before. The cognitive competence was tested using the K-WISC-Ⅲ. The collected date was analyzed using two-way ANOVA, which had been on SPSS-WIN 14.0 program. Results of the study were described as follows: First, 16 weeks motor program could improve cognitive competence in children with developmental disabilities. Second, it showed significant difference in picture competence(from 8 week, p<.05), in coding(from 16 week, p<.01), in picture arrangement(from 16 week, p<.001), in block designin picture competence(from 8 week, p<.05),(from 8 week, p<.05), in object assembly(from 8 week, p<.01), in mazes search(from 16 week, p<.001) of cognitive competence.
