The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of two exercise program(walking + Dumbbell and walking) on body composition, physical fitness and blood variables in obese middle-aged women. the subjects who participated for this study were thirty obese women(%fat: over 30%, age: 35-45 middle-aged women), they were divided into three groups: Walking exercise and Dumbbell exercise group(n=10), walking exercise group(n=10), control group(n=10). walking exercise was composed of treadmill ellipse instructions. The results were as follows: The weight, %fat and WHR of aerobics exercise group and the combined exercise group decreased after treatment compare, but the weight, %fat and WHR of the control group had no differences between treatments. The change of physical fitness muscular strength, muscle endurance, reflexes, softness, balance and VO(2)max in the aerobics exercise group increased after treatment then. But the control group had no differences between treatment. The change of blood lipids TC, LDL-C, TG in the aerobics exercise group and the combined exercise group were decreased after treatment then before treatment. However HDL-C was increased. the control group had no differences between treatment. The change of Glucose in the aerobics exercise group and the combined exercise group were decreased after treatment than. but the control group had no differences between treatments. These results suggest that significant changes can be found in body composition, physical fitness and blood variables of the combined exercise futher change various factors compared with aerobic exercise.
