This paper tries to examine factors inducing school violence from an evolutionary psychological perspective on the assumption that some other methodology than social and environmental analysis should be carried out to prevent and cope with school violence more efficiently.
In general, criminological theories are usually framed in sociological terms but always entail psychological assumptions. Psychological accounts, in their turn, entail assumptions about the adaptive design of evolved mental mechanism and processes. Thus, explicit attention to recent theory and research on psychology and evolution can some times help us generate productive hypotheses. School violence is one of the illustrative ones.
We believe that evolutionary insights should not be viewed as alternatives to sociological and psychological analyses but as complementary components of a more complete understanding. From these methodology this paper suggested several counter measures for school violences including autonomous student court, music therapy, and revision of some related regulations.
