This paper aims to possibly gauge the extent to which the Cartesian subject can pursue a form of objective reality where the ideological operation of “pure” knowledge is fully realized and engaged. That is, to what extent can the subjects become conscious of their material position in terms of class struggle, of their revolutionary potential for ontological freedom against what constitutes their ontology as a social being in the first place? Given that class consciousness is predetermined by social relations and modes of production, how do they eventually accede to the formation of subjectivity against the odds of objective reality that ideologically condition the existential status of their social positionality? These questions largely attend to the ways in which the subject can imagine an alternative subjectivity as a gesture to resist the ideological coordinates of objective reality. Moreover, this paper tackles the question of subjectivity in relation to the psychological state of what Heidegger calls “boredom,” an inherent feature of the human mind forfeiting the articulation of “feeling.” It helps register the potential of the ambiguous, or antinomic, variables of “always-already” constituted subjectivity, as it is exposed at the brink of the immanent and “spontaneous” disruption of the subject.
