The purpose of this paper is to critically examine Dicky"s notion of artworld that develops Habermas"s concept of public sphere and Danto"s theory of art. We can find a limitation of inside in Public sphere and artworld that belongs to both inside and outside of art between "private sphere and public sphere" and "subjective public and relative passive the public of artmass" Unlikely Harmers"s notion of the public sphere of art, it has been limited to reality. The collapse of public sphere of art could be interpreted as the beginning of art-democracy. In Habermas"s theory of art, the analysis of all the actor in modern artworld should be added. Then, the artworld will be considered as different specialized form. I argue that Dicky"s notion of artworld excludes the sociological perspective, as such it easily falls into the analysis of only a particular feature of the artworld, rather than all the features of the artworld that we need to consider The new type of on-off public sphere that I want to develop proposes that Habermas"s, Danto"s and Dicky"s theories of artword needs to be corrected. Therefore, the recent discussions of public sphere and artworld can be more theory-productive, only when the philosophical perspectives and methodologies from Habermas, Dicky, and Danto are intimately connected.
