This study is to discuss what kinds of multicultural archives is possible in Korean society from the Life-world perspective. The first purpose of multicultural archives is to organize the researches associated with multicultural immigrants and so to support the next studies. And the second purpose is to record the lives of multicultural immigrants in settlement society.
So this paper discusses the infrastructures of multicultural archives : the research institute itself, the digitalization of the associated researches, and the networking of the activist group and the supporting organization. Lastly, this study looks into the creation of an e-ASC for the Gyeongsan region and for the immigrants’ past livelihood in the homeland through the use of e-ASC for them.
