Report Errors
In the second part of the philosophy of right developed Hegel his philosophy of action. His philosophical innovation is to divide the end of action in two components, the purpose, which is investigated in the first chapter, and the intention, which in the second. While previous researches on Hegel’s philosophy of action have ignored the importance of the distinction of both components, this article sets this distinction in the center of his theory to propose coherent interpretation. The purpose means the individual and direct movement of the body of the agent, the intention is the universal predicate of the purpose, which is fixed by the social determination of external connections of the purpose. The principle of the responsibility of action is the right of objectivity, which means, that the agent should know the proper relation between the purpose and the intention and that he cannot avoid the responsibility, even though he misunderstands it.
