This study examined the effects of the Experience-Based History Education Program on young children’s time concept, historical thinking, and historical attitude. The subjects were 60 5-year-old kindergarteners assigned to an experimental or a control group, with 30 children in each group. The history education program was developed and applied to the experimental group for 8 weeks; control group children listened to historical stories and hero fairy tales. Instruments for pre- and post-tests were consisted of time concept task(Grant & Suddendorf, 2009), historical thinking task (Vella, 2001), and historical attitude task(Paul & Claire, 2012). Results indicated that the experimental group was higher in the time concept, historical thinking, and historical attitude than the control group. Implications for future research and educational practices were suggested.
