Existing online seat reservation systems have a inappropriate system structure. If two customers request for the booking on a same seat at the same time through online seat reservation system, it is possible to fail one of these customers request. Happening this incidence occurs customer"s inconvenience and distrust of the online system. This paper proposes a algorithm to solve the issue and designs a online reservation system to apply the algorithm. Purpose of this algorithm and system design is to prevent duplicated seats and to reduce a rate of failed reservation in the online reservation system. Moreover, this algorithm can be used as a guideline for the online seat reservation system"s design of movie, performance, sports, airline, etc.
