The purpose of this study was to investigate the moderating effect of the career orientation of casino employees on the relationships between role conflict, job stress, and job satisfaction. Casino employees were approached, from whom 225 valid responses were collected through a convenient sampling procedure. Results found (1) that both inter-sender role conflict and intra-sender role conflict have a positive effect on job stress and a negative effect on job satisfaction, and (2) that the level of an employee`s career orientation acts on the suggested relationships. The interactive effects of career orientation were stronger for low career-oriented employees than for high career-oriented employees. In particular, employees with low career orientation were more likely to feel higher job stress when they experience more inter-sender role conflict when compared to employees with high career orientation. However, for team satisfaction, high career oriented employees were less reactive to the negative intra-sender role conflict than low career-oriented employees. Their satisfaction scores did not decrease dramatically due to intra-sender role conflict, compared to those of low career-oriented employees.
