The purpose of this paper is to consider the implications of language and culture education in France for Korea. The social integration strategies in a multicultural society are carried out at a very different level all over the world. French society’s language and culture education have served as a fundamental device for social integration among members with diverse backgrounds. This paper tried to analyze the language and culture education considering the macro trends in France’s social integration policies. To that end, firstly, this study described the recent changes in French society caused by the influx of immigrants with diverse backgrounds. Secondly, this paper investigated language and culture education policies categorizing according adults and children education as a policy targets. Lastly, based on the results of French cases, I discussed the implications for Korean social integration policy.
