This study aimed to analyze the factors of population migration in Kitakyushu City, included in Fukuoka Prefecture according to the administrative district of Japan. An analysis was conducted, dividing the factors of population migration in Kitakyushu City into migration within the area and that out of the area from the perspective of national migration and setting explanatory variables. As a result of the analysis, the following conclusions were drawn.
First, there was a high ratio of migration within the area. In the migration within the area, it turned out that housing area, the population of 14-19 years old and the variable of population density facilitated the migration. In the age group of 14-19 years old, migration within the area was active for the reasons like entering school, and they preferred migration to an area with high population density.
Second, migration out of the area was concentrated in the neighboring areas. It turned out that, in the migration out of the area, the variable of psychological distance played an important role. This can be interpreted that it is because a big city has a high opportunity cost according to the migration as the factors such as price and housing problem act.
The result of an analysis may differ depending on the variables set. Also, recently, it has been difficult to explain population migration with economic factors such as employment and income gap, and there is a tendency of emphasizing the qualitative aspects of life, like the natural environment. In this context, in that the situational circumstances of Korea and Japan are similar, it is necessary to build up a model of the factors of migration through developing various variables including qualitative environmental factors. study would analyze the revision of the curriculum of elementary social studies between South Korea and Japan, would draw the characteristics and would aim to review changes in the contents of economic education in elementary school. The curriculum is revised to cultivate qualities and abilities required to cope with the changes of the times. There is no difference in the background of the curriculum revision between Korea and Japan, but there are a few differences in the contents of the curriculum.
