I studied the trial of revision of the Kwang-Hea-Gun Diary and the leak of the Authentic Records in this article. At the center of these affairs there was a court diarist Yoon Yi-Je, who found the unfavourite records about his grandfather Yoon Hyo-Jeon, and suggested the revision of that records concerned.
The trial of revision of the Diary of Kwang-Hea-Gun’s reign was promoted by ‘the New Southern originated from the Northen’. For them, the involvement in the dethroning the Princess In-Hyen during the Kwang-Hea-Gun was a critical drawback to change their political position after the In-Jo Restoration. However, this trial was failed with the downfall of the Southern.
Yoon Yi-Je was recalled in ten-year after the Kyong-Sin Change. He already died at his banishment. Noh Yi-Ik insisted the distortion of the Authentic Records of Hyo-Jong’s reign from what he heard of Yoon Yi-Je. As the result of investigation of the Authentic Records, his insistence revealed false. By the dispute of the court, Noh Yi-Ik was executed in due course and Yoon Ha-Je, a brother of Yoon Yi-Je, was banished.
King Sook-Jong and his subjects declared the rigid prohibition of the leak of the Authentic Records in tradition. Furthermore, they restrained themselves to investigate the Authentic Records without reasonable cause.
