This study questions how to secure the legitimacy and meaning of religious and scientific discourse in this time of ecological crisis. The traditional way of thinking that religious and scientific discourse are two distinct language games is not an adequate justification of this discourse formation. Dialogue between the two is demanded as solution to overcoming the social and ecological crisis that is taking place today. This paper proposes that ecological civilization form a basis of religious and scientific discourse and research. In other words, it will examine the status of ecology as a mirror of dialogue between religion and science. To this end, this study focuses on the reality of religion in the face of the challenges of ecological transformation. Second, this study deals with the conditions and tasks of religion and science as they take the path of ecological transformation. Third, this study addresses the issue of ambivalence in technology from the viewpoint of ecological civilization. Forth, this study explores the possibility of finding a common solution in which science, technology, society, and religion together solve today’s problems. Finally, this study illuminates the task and meaning of ecological civilization as a mirror of religion and science.
