Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship among achievement goals orientation, exercise commitment and school resilience of sports club participants.
Method: For the study 331 middle school students were collected as sbujects. Data gathered from questionnaires were analyzed with reliability analysis, frequency analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis using SPSS for Windows 21.0.
Results: The conclusions are as follows; First, the achievement goalso rientation of middle school students had an effect on cognitive exercise commitment in the order of task and ego goal orientations, as for behavioral exercise commitment in the order task and ego goal orientations. Second, the achievement goals orientation of middle school students had an effect on school resilience. In this part, only task goal orientation had an effect on school resilience. Third, the cognitive exercise commitment of middle school students had an effect on school resilience in the order of interest and norm.
Conclusion: In summary, the findings in this study confirm that middle shcool students’ achievement goals orientation has the effect on exercise commitment and school resilience. Exercise commitment also has an effect on school resilience of sports club participants.
