The purpose of this study is to observe the learner's summary process in detail and to look at the expressive aspects of the summary results. I observed, interviewed, and researched the strategies presented in the summary process of foreign learners. Many studies have been conducted on summaries in Korean language education recently, but most studies are only focused on how to teach structures and strategies. This assumes that the text can be summarized by only the strategy of architecture. However, on the actual survey, foreign learners who used various strategies to understand the writing still had difficulties in the summary. In particular, they couldn’t connect sentences in one text. They just found the main sentences from writing and wrote them down. This will show the need for specific way to summaries. Foreign learners need to learn how to connect sentences and how to make it look one text. It is meaningful to find it. This study could be the basic study to educate them about specific way to summarize.
