The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of violence experience on violence against domestic violence perpetrators at the probation center and to use it to prevent domestic violence.
In order to do this, we interviewed 10 domestic violence perpetrators who had been ordered to take the course and collected the data.
The collected data were presented in the procedures and methods of qualitative case study presented by Yin (2002), and the results were presented as individual dimension, family dimension, marital relationship dimension, social dimension, and violence recognition dimension.
At the individual level, participants showed difficulty in controlling anger and impulse, anxiety, psychological atrophy, loneliness, and drinking problems.
In the dimension of family and marital relations, experiences of violence suffered in the early life of the family led to violence after marriage, and it was an important factor to trigger violence rather than good communication in marital conflict.
In terms of social dimension and perception of violence, participants expressed strong fear of livelihood and social stigma. And, there was strong obsession with stereotypes about the traditional sex role.
In addition, they expressed their despicable discipline against education and violence, respectively. Based on these results, I suggested a practical and policy intervention plan to prevent domestic violence.
