Report Errors
Singapore, which has a systematic housing welfare policy centered on public housing, has implemented various policies for the elderly housing. This paper aims to provide various housing alternatives to the rapidly increasing Korean elderlies, and analyzes the current programs of housing welfare for the elderly in Singapore to find implications applicable to domestic elderly housing development.
The new programs developed by HDB are the “Studio Apartment Scheme”, “2-room Flexi Flat” and “Community Care Apartment.” They provide flexibility in terms of lease and care services to support elderlies to live independently within the community.
As such, Singapore’s Elderly Housing Welfare Service provides meticulous housing welfare services in a complex range of AIP (Aging in Place) and financial issues.
