This essay aims to explain the background, compilation process, publishing process, compilation and publication of DongKyoung- DaeJeon in 1880 in Inje-gun Gangwon-do. Firstly background is related to increase of Donghak’s believer, in Gangwon-do and Inje-gun since the death of Choi. Secondly, regarding the basic data of DongKyoungDaeJeon, the teaching of Seongdeok, was passed on to the school by the poem of Choi Jewoo. Thirdly, Choi Sihyeong was received the recognition of Donghak’s intention as a person to be the author of this book. In November 1879, the ‘Sudanso’ was installed at the home of the Bangshihak, and the process of compilation of DongKyoung- DaeJeon began. Then in June 1880, process of compilation of DongKyoungDaeJeon finally went through the process of publishing. It took six months from the beginning of November 1879 to the beginning of May 1880. The process could be regarded as the period spent compiling and correcting the collection of Choi Jewoo’s literary works. About the significance of compilation and publishing, we can point out that the historical significance of the publication of DongKyoungDaeJeon is the theorem of Donghak Doctrine. The second significance of the publication of DongKyoungDaeJeon was that it confirmed the position of Choi, Sihyeong, who succeeded Choi, as the second leader.
