Dance Education plays a significant role in developing social and academic activities of the student. Yet, the current college entrance policy, with the current, heavy concern about creating jobs, has excluded dance programs from school education. The key words of 2015 Revised curriculum are the education developing vision and talent, creativity-convergence type human resources, and free learning semester. There is little reference, however, to dance education. This shows that unlike some advanced countries, the current education policy of Korea has failed to include dance education in their art subjects. In relation to this issue, this paper examines the elementary/secondary education policy and culture and arts education policy of Korea. The purpose of this study is to identify the challenge in making dance education as part of the subjects of art, while seeking a new solution to the problem. In this paper, it is argued that; 1) There should be a Task Force Team, which consists of the expert of dance education, for policy development and reorganization to normalize‘dance’education in arts curriculum. Therefore, it should compensate the defect of the system determination, communication with the administration, and the promotion strategy to construct art education policy. 2) A new policy should be made for equal opportunity of Dance Education. The problem of communication and decision making system for the establishment of education policy should be improved and support from Provincial Governor and School Superintendent is required. 3) A programme of training teacher to develop of teachers’ capacity of their specific function should be run to reshape the existing perception of the cultural of entrance of university to prepare for the decrease population in dance department in university. In addition, it should provide an institutional strategy to expand the secondary teaching certificate in dance education. 4) National Competency Standards system should be improved. And teacher's certification exam for dance instructor is to be introduced. To promote an advanced Art Education, it is hoped that the government improves Dance Education through a fundamental education reform, which will encourage the creative integration of imagination and technology.
