This study analyzed English and foreign language skills by field for prospective members majoring in cabin aviation service and established a research hypothesis on difference verification. The survey was conducted focusing on students majoring in aviation department as four-year college students. As a result of empirical analysis, there was a difference in the importance and performance of foreign language ability by field, and the hypothesis was adopted. Specifically, 14 items were displayed in quadrant I of the IPA analysis frame, and due to the nature of quadrant I, students highly evaluated the importance and performance of English education, indicating that most of them consist of English listening/speaking expressions and English items necessary for airline employment. Quadrant III is a part with low importance and performance, and two of the 19 items were located. Specifically, the two items consisted of items corresponding to the second language, of which statistically significant items were Chinese HSK certification items. However, since there is a great importance of a second language in the field, and there are many Japanese and Chinese passengers using domestic airlines, there is a great need for a second language in airline employment, but students are not aware of it importantly and have low implementation. Three items were located in the IV quadrant. Specifically, English writing, English reports, and grammar/reading items are located, but due to the nature of the IV quadrant, the above three items are of low importance in airline English education, but students" performance is of high inefficient characteristics.
